Think through the past several decades. We, as a society, have grown increasingly sexually unattractive even as, in some ways, we have become more sexualized than ever.

Men look and act more like women. Women look and act more like men. Both men and women have worse bodies. Neither makes it a point to emphasize and develop secondary sex characteristics as much as they once did, and certainly less effort is paid to the development of masculine or feminine disposition or capabilities. Men, in general, have developed sexually unappealing characteristics like lisps, vanity, incompetence, etc. Women, the same: bombastic and loud speech, taking up physical space, etc.

While this has been going on, the sexual revolution has proceeded apace. Sex is more readily available than ever, with a lower average economic, social, and emotional investment required to obtain it than ever before. That is, for some. For others--love's losers--that is deeply not the case. This is a familiar story that doesn't need much rehashing here, so briefly: some, but not many, straight men have a lot of sex. A lot of straight men have some, but not much, sex. And some straight men have no sex. Almost all straight women have sex, and their rates don't vary that much. Further, the more conventionally attractive a man is, the more opportunities he'll have to have sex; with women above a certain minimum baseline, that is not true. This is just hypergamy. The consequence: all women have sex but many involuntarily delay relationships; some men have sex and involuntary relationships (to obtain sex); and some men have no sex and no relationships.

GC has introduced several compensatory mechanisms (alternatively: several compensatory mechanisms have organically sprung forth) for people who are unable to fuck or pair-bond in the current culture, due either to exaggerated sexual unattractiveness, or due to sexual market dynamics. Fetishes, polyamory, homosexuality, and other "alternative" lifestyles help people who would otherwise be losers in love to find people to be intimate with, in at least some way. Further, GC has offered a number of "benign" incel alternatives, like "asexual," to help stigmatized losers cope.

I think why GC is frustrated with incels is that they refuse to accept what they've been given. The incel doesn't want a furry poly lifestyle with other unattractive people. The incel wants to fuck and marry a good looking girl like his dad did. Like we all do. And he obstinately refuses the bend the knee and see the world through a queer lens. No, he's not agender. No, he's not asexual. No, he's not trans. No, he's not poly. He's a loser who, in times past, would have had a wife and kids. Instead, he hasn't been touched.

He refuses to accept that the world we now live in is a good one. He recognizes that outsize losers are conjoined with outsize winners, and he embarrasses GC by calling attention to it.

And look at GC's stormtroopers, the journalists attacking incels. Generally, in the case of men, they are men who either: (1) are JUST above the cut-off for incel in the traditional sex world; or (2) avail themselves of the very compensatory mechanisms GC has offered them to fuck. While there are no Chad journalists as a rule, there are CERTAINLY no Chads talking shit about incels on Slate.

In the case of women who attack incels, we see something similar: women who, in the past, never had any chance with Chad (because investment in sex was high, so Chad was going to go for Stacy), who now at least can get dicked down by Chad and yet eventually pair-bond in a "polycule" with the kind of 4-5 man she would have otherwise been resigned to in the past anyway.

The ugly men and women attacking incels both perceive themselves to be better off in the present day than in the past (and, perhaps in the case of the women, it's arguably true), and they have GC to thank for it. They don't bite the hand that feeds.

Incels reject all that. They don't think of alternative sex as being actual sex. They don't want the shitty, atomized intimate existence that is possibly on offer for them. They want a past 4 (today's 6) who loves them and hasn't already been destroyed by Chad at his rock bottom. Those don't exist anymore, because GC isn't offering that. Incels aren't being fed, and so they bite the hand. And that's why GC hates them.

The midwest and certain parts of the rural south were hit hard by the changing economic landscape. Education and income are better predictors for responsible behavior (marriage, healthy sober living) than religiosity. Your example of Europe (far less religious even in its most conservative parts) undercuts your argument.
