I skip the several clear SCOTUS rulings on this minor derivative point. So the Manafort raid was illegal and unconstitutional independent of the ex post facto 2 August revised scope. Consequences? Is clear prosecutorial misconduct. The two usual remedies are disbarment and prosecutors subject to civilian lawsuits for damages. But there is a further seldom used criminal pathway via the Citizen Protection Act of 1998, aka 28USC 530B, WHICH EXPRESSLY INCLUDES federal special counsels.
