Rate my chances at getting a job offer from this place

Date: May 16th, 2018 4:50 PM Author: mustard ceo Had interviews a few weeks ago. In middle of interview, would-be boss told me he wanted me to fly out for the final interviews within two weeks. Booked flight (paid for by company), and had final interviews last week. At that time, would-be boss said he expected to be able to call me by this past Monday with final decision. I had told the boss that i was considering 1-2 other offers and wanted to make a decision by the end of the following week. No word on Monday. I emailed on Tuesday - no response. Today, rec'd a response that he will make a decision by this Friday. At no point has the would-be boss asked about my comp requirements/expectations.
My thought is that they have offered the job to someone else and i'm the backup choice. Hence why they havent asked about my comp requirements and why they are saying that they "expect to make a decision by Friday." The language in the email wasnt suggestive that the offer would be made to me, and I was one of 3 people brought in for final round interviews. Thoughts? Seems weird to be this far down the path for a job that would pay 300k+ for the company to not clarify my expectations to make sure we're on the same page.
If people agree that the offer is very likely not going to me, then I may withdraw my app today to save face here. |
