#1 reason why america is not a real country

Date: May 21st, 2018 4:36 PM Author: Narrow-minded goal in life The antisocial tendencies of its residents. There are too many "bad actors" that prevent us from functioning like a society. There are countless examples of this, but the most evident from the moment you touch ground here is how people behave on the roads. I am staring down 4 hours of traffic right now. I look over to the HOV lane and >50% of the people speeding by me are single drivers. Soon enough, the lane will crawl to a stop just like mine, destroying its utility and dissuading potential carpoolers. I just had to take an exit with a long line-up. Unsurprisingly, selfish assholes sped by the queue and cut in at the last moment, forcing everyone to brake and impeding the smooth flow of traffic. My only question is whether America was always full of self-centered masses given our historical individualist bent.. or if this a consequence of an increasingly fractured and factional nation. |
