how does popular music fade away? how many generations does it take? Something like Elvis already seems to be finished as a cultural phenomenon.

The Beatles have always been overrated and are now just the band du jour for "quirky" "sapiosexual" girls on dating apps

when you think about it, pop music from the 60's has remained popular for an incredibly long period of time relative to earlier pop music. a song from 1965 today is the equivalent of a song from 1912 in 1965. how many people in '65 were still listening to roamin' in the gloamin' or whatever else was popular back then?

Exactly. But will it die with us or will kids in middle school now know of "Satisfaction" etc? We are still living in the boomers world and it will be weird when it ends
