Date: May 21st, 2018 6:51 PM Author: Rose pontificating clown the issues I would expect the report to cover are: (i) improper conclusions of the investigation (comey closing the case based on an incorrect interpretation of the applicable statutes), (ii) Loretta Lynch improper influence on Comey (forcing him to call it a "matter" instead of an "investigation", along with plenty more), (iii) airport tarmac meeting between Lynch & Bill Clinton, (iv) donations from Hillary allies to McCabe's wife, and most important of all -- that the FBI never actually investigated the emails themselves on Weiner's laptop. The investigation was reopened and closed without anyone reading a single email on it.
Instead, it appears like it will fault McCabe for sitting on Weiner's laptop for 3 weeks, and fault Comey for commenting on the close of the Clinton investigation publicly.
Thus, it looks like a WHITEWASH and we will have to lower expectations even further for Sessions, Huber, OIG report on FISA abuse, etc. |

If the upcoming IG report is limited to the Hillary investigation, I don't see how the leaks are a response to that.

The NYT piece last week was in response to Nunes continually pushing Rosenstein for more information on the "confidential source" the FBI had used, and Rosenstein losing that fight once Paul Ryan took Nunes's side. It had been going on for months and finally ended.
Rather than divulge the information to Nunes, Rosenstein leaked it to the media. |
