Should I get a smart lock for my house or is this GC flame?

Depends on your priorities. If your primary concern is security, it is 100% GC flame. But if you are looking for greater convenience, I suppose it is possible that smart locks are an improvement in this regard. I don't know if they live up to this potential.
If you want increased security, the number one thing you can do is install a good quality door reinforcement kit. Properly installed, such kit will increase the time needed to break through a door significantly.

Why do you really need "smart locks" anyway?
my key works well and I always know when I've locked my door.
what if they figure out how to hack it?

it'd be nice to not have to fiddle with keys when hands are full
would be nice to lock door from bed if i'm unsure if i locked it
would be nice if my parents/family can get in if we're not home
