no. i remember telling an ex-gf over a decade ago, before netflix even got their streaming up and running, that streaming would be everything in the future and i couldn't wait for netflix to focus on streaming and phase out the dvds.

i'm pretty sure most people were like this.

NO that was when they were going to split up the DVD and streaming services into different companies that didn't talk to each other, so your preferences and ratings that you'd meticulously done for hours to get the perfect suggestions for you would all be lost. And also if you had a DVD queued up and it became streaming you wouldn't be presented that option so you could queue up a different DVD instead.

I enjoyed Netflix much more when I was renting DVDs. I could actually watch cool stuff rather than being stuck with whatever shit they give you to stream.

Netflix has some 4k content but you have to pay a higher subscription fee and some people don't have the bandwidth for it. If you want 4k content, I think discs are still better.

For everything else streaming is fine. Although 1080p on a disc still looks better to me than supposed 1080p streaming

Fair enough but he specifically was talking about movienuts. Most movienuts like the best quality possible which right now is 4k.

If he just meant people who like to watch a shit ton of movies than I guess their DVD service is good for that too.

It's still $10/month right? I pay for it because it's cheap. If they went higher I wouldn't bother. Everything they offer is online for free (obviously illegally), half their shit that I loved has been removed from their catalog, and their original content is ok. Never understood the appeal of shit like Stranger Things or Orange is the New Nigger. Those shows are just slightly above mediocre.
