RATE my recent trip to West VA

Drove most of the way Friday night with my friend, we did bumps of coke the entire drive.
Stopped at a Sleep Inn around 20 miles away from this whitewater rafting resort. When I handed the clerk my credit card to pay for the room, I noticed a clump of blow on the card but it was too late to take it back. He looked at the card and said "whut is thiiiiis?" I immediately freaked out, thought I was going to have to snatch my card and run, but then he turned the card over and said "this a Visa er a Mastercard?" The logo isn't on the front of that card, it's on the back. Breathed a sigh of relief.
Did coke in the hotel room until 4 am, slept from about 6 am to 9-9:30 am.
Drove about half an hour to the rafting place and did bumps on the way.
Went rafting from 1-4 pm. With all the recent rain, the water was really high so the rafting kinda sucked. Not really a lot of rapids. Our guide seemed pretty cool and was into metal (I am not, but some of the people on the trip were).
Got back, we had rented a cabin on the resort premises. When we arrived, a few of our buddies had gotten there (they didn't want to raft). I immediately do a couple nitrous balloons and snort some coke.
Birthday boy moved from Maryland to NOVA a few years ago. Two of his friends from NOVA were there and are fucking nerds. One guy asked, "what is in that balloon" as I was hearing the whomp whomps from the nitrous. A bit later, I walked outside to smoke and he said, "oh my god, your nose is bleeding!" These dudes were fucking dorks.
Couple guys walked down to the resort bar, I stayed back with a few others and kept blowing lines. The guys came back with our rafting guide and he started doing blow with us.
We did blow until 6 am Sunday morning and the guy I drove with wanted to leave to go home. He drove, we did a few bumps on the ride home.
From Friday afternoon until Sunday evening, I ate one ham sandwich from a gas station (ate half Friday night when we got to the hotel, and the other half Saturday morning before I started back in on the coke).
I consumed probably 40 nitrous balloons, 20-25 beers and some Jack, and we went through two eightballs. |

I rested for a few hours in the bedroom and then, when I woke, I amputated my left ring finger in the kitchen. My brother-in-law stood there and acted the coward, complaining about the blood, the screaming, the mess.
I calmed everyone and we proceeded out to the western reach of the ranch to trap shoot. While we were packing our bags my sister saw me putting in a pair of surgical pliers and I panicked, thinking she'd realize why I was bringing them with me. But she was oblivious, only asking "are those for untangling the fences?" "Sure."
When we got to the reach we shot for about an hour and then sat down together in adirondack chairs that had been set up for our party. We drank Moscato d'Asti and ate rich summer sausages that had been cured on the ranch. As we traded conversation, I reached into my bag, took out the surgical pliers, and, in a swooping motion, descended on my right big toe for an amputation. It was a grisly thing--I had to seesaw the pliers back and forth for a while to get it off. My sister started screaming as soon as I began, because she doesn't have a stomach for the real world. I shouted at her: "Stop complaining" and she quieted. Our friend, Thomas, who had accompanied us for the shoot, passed out in his chair. My brother-in-law stared at the ground.
I was disgusted with everyone. I'd come to the wilderness to enjoy communing with nature and to take in some measure of solitude before returning to life in the city. Their intolerance was maddening. I hurried off back to the house to pack my bags and make a hasty retreat to the train station. This wasn't the crowd I wanted. |

this was apparently one of the novice trips, but i guess when the water is really high, you don't have as much of the whitewater/rapid stuff going on because that's created by the water beating against the rocks, which doesnt happen when the water is deep. |
