I'm saying a lot of people want tattoos, whether it is an expression of individuality, art, trying to be cool or whatever. Having visible tattoos is frowned upon in a lot of GC jobs like, for instance, law.
However, I know lots of very smart professional types in fields where no one gives a fuck if they have tats because they are actually valuable and don't have to rely on having a specific image (e.g. engineers, specialty tax accountants). These people aren't necessarily rebelling against anything. For whatever reason they want to get some tattoos and don't have to forego getting them.

The most stable woman I know (my wife) has zero tats. And it's telling that when she finally went through her first existential/mid-life/emotional crisis, one of the first things she said she wanted to do was get a tattoo. Now that she's moved past that, she no longer wants a tattoo.
Tattoos on women clearly signal a level of unhealthy impulsiveness or, worse, self-destructive tendencies. |

Other two, neither got a tattoo but one kept telling me after we broke up how badly she wanted to get one (she was a mental wreck because of it, very codependent person, opted to dye her hair green instead of tat); other one also admitted she once wanted a tattoo while going through a rough time but didn't get it and doesn't consider it anymore. She's the best of the bunch but between all of these it's clear women just do it as an impulsive measure when going through some shit. So the latter girl signals to me that she has self control, while the others don't Hence, I see tats as signaling the girl being broken (probably because of Chad dumping her), and having little self control. These are women to avoid, and so women with tattoos are ones to avoid, and hence - normal men who want decent women hate tattoos |
