There are places with a mild chill commute around Houston, but anything on 290 is not one of them. 290 is in the midst of a massive, multi year construction project that creates absolutely treacherous, shoulder-less, stressful driving conditions. I could have everything perfect about a house, job, schools, neighborhood, and 290 would be a dealbreaker. I've never heard of your neighborhood. That said, you were dollar will buy a lot of house out there. I love this city, the people I've met, and the opportunities I've had here.
