It's interesting how this investigation has turned out. The original allegation was that the Russians colluded with the Trump campaign to beat Hillary. The evidence turned up and released by the press and the OIG report tend to show that the FBI and the Justice Department colluded with the Clinton campaign to beat Trump. Yet, Mueller REFUSES to file any charges related to this collusion.
Then Mueller's investigation expanded to see if Trump obstructed justice by firing Comey. The evidence turned up in the OIG report tends to show Comey deserved to be fired for insubordination and leaking, and the FBI and DOJ ignored their own procedures and obstructed justice in the Clinton email investigation, and Rosenstein made a recommendation that Comey be fired. Still, Mueller REFUSES to file charges.
Mueller is playing into Trump's hands by doing this. He hired a bunch of partisans for his team, filed charges on thin evidence for unrelated matters against people with weak ties to Trump, and can't prove his case against the supposed Russian hackers he indicted. With so much doubt about Mueller's credibility and objectivity, Trump could pardon the subjects of Mueller's investigation and his supporters would not blink an eye. This would infuriate the left, but they don't have a majority in the House or Senate. The time for Trump to issue the pardons is after the midterm election, if Republicans keep control of Congress.
