yes. but it requires a serious break in the pattern.. usually through in patient treatment for a pretty long time, then a strong will.
most people don't do either so for 95% of people, the answer is no.

i feel like habits are easiest to break when you travel, move, break up or change up lifestyle more generally.
of course all of those are reasons to drink.
