I only sometimes eat breakfast and have cut out more sugar
If you cut out desserts/cookies/sweets, you can pretty much eat whatever you want and stay thin. A McDonalds combo meal is only like 600 calories. I am a sucker for ice cream though - so I do eat that.

Also avoid stress - I think I gained 20 pounds in biglaw. Lost 10 immediately after quitting. Now down another 3 pounds, so total 13 pounds down.
If I never did that job, I'd still have BMI like 17.

Don’t eat breakfast unless you are going to work on a construction site or a farm
Don’t eat sweets except occasionally
Don’t drink any sweetened drinks ever - just stick to water and coffee
Don’t snack
Do all these things and you don’t even need to cut out alcohol

Always been a natural thinmo so take it fwiw.
I eat full meals, but not quite as large as fats do. Just as much as chubs though.
However, I frequently put off eating even if I am somewhat hungry and snack a lot less than others, I think. I eat a small breakfast, full lunch, and then usually don't eat until dinner and then a small evening snack, like a bowl of cereal. That's it.
I also don't drink any caloric beverages generally, though I used to drink a lot of booze(though I was poor then and didn't eat as much.) Sugary drinks and alcohol adds up fast. So does watching TV and snacking. I generally play video games and don't watch much TV, so my hands are occupied and when I'm doing something fun I will put off eating until I'm starving.
Also I just don't give a shit about food. It's fuel for activities and life. It isn't something I look forward to very much, I don't want to go try restaurants for fun.

Most of my life I've eaten like shit, too. Like frozen dinners and canned soup, and often bought groceries to maximize calories per dollar. I'm 35 and the same weight I was at like 21.
I really think a large, somewhat ignored issue is that *you don't have to fucking eat just because you are hungry, or bored, or watching tv*. You can be hungry. Get used to it and it won't bother you much at all until it goes on for hours.
And going to restaurants and wanting to try everything and getting a bunch of apps and booze... yeah don't make that a habit if you're worried about gaining wait. Avoid it like the fucking plague. Don't eat to socialize.

I'm currently eating lunch. It consists of two whole plain chicken thighs, about two cups of cooked plain white rice, and a cup of plain vegetables. I'm drinking water with it. Nothing processed. It's the exact same thing I've eaten for lunch and dinner every day for months, except that I eat sushi once or twice a week, a burger now and then, sub fish in for chicken frequently, and have salad with ranch dressing at dinner. For breakfast, I eat four eggs, white rice or homemade corn tortillas, and a smoothie consisting solely of fruit, water, and a couple supplements. I have another identical smoothie around 330-4 pm. I don't snack, I rarely have soda or juice, and I don't eat a lot of refined sugar or junk, although I recognize the white rice is high-glycemic.
My daily caloric intake is about 3100-3400 calories, with low days around 2800. I also lift regularly, surf regularly, swim and dive regularly, hike a lot, etc. I need about 2800 to maintain weight, often more.

6'1+/168lbs/early 40's with ecto/endo build. Can 1RM 185 on the bench, 10 pull ups, etc. so nothing special but fit enough for every day life. Probably just under 15% BF, so no "cut" abs but no gut either.
Breakfast:
Egg & veggie or turkey sausage on whole wheat bread OR granola+fresh or dried berry cereal w/ 2% milk. On average, probably 400-600 calories for breajfast
Lunch:
Varies, but average would be a nice deli sandwich, I usually go for no sauces aside from like mustard and any type of bread. Probably 600-800 calories.
So, by the time I go home, I'm between 1000-1400 consumed. I'll generally have a skir yogurt for another 150 calories, so that's 1150 to 1550.
Dinner could be anything, but usually another 500-800 calories, so I'm at 1650 to 2350 calories in a day.
I generically need ~1800 a day to maintain weight, so some days I'm under a little, other days I'm over BUT:
Workout 3-5x a week probably burning 300-400 calories each time. I skip lunches on weekends, so nix about 1000 calories or so by doing that.
Cal in + Cal out = me maintaining my weight.

Cut sugar. Easiest way to do this is avoid soda. Its sugh a frivolous indulgence and I think the #1 trap fatmos fall into. Avoid frivolous feminizing bullshit like sugar filled coffee drinks that pudgy women are always drinking.
Also, in order to aid the sugar cutting, read the ingredients on what you eat. Gc likes to sneak sugar into healthy sounding foods. My biggest case in point is raisin bran. Sounds healthy. Most raisin bran has a storm of added sugar though. And you doby realize how much until u read the ingredients. Another big one people fall for us yogurt. Healthy yogurt tastes like shit.
Calories in calories out is a truism/oversimplification. Many factors about the TYPE of calories you put I. Affect the calories out in perhaps non-obvious ways.
Bottm line: cut the sugar. Get into spicy food so your food still tastes good and you have incentive and eenjoy eating non sugary food. Calorie coiunting shouldn't be necessary for non-bird brained men.

I’m not asking how to lose weight. I fucking know how to lose weight and the various theories regarding why everyone is a fatass.
What I’m asking is whether most thin people just eat healthy / low cal ALL THE TIME. Or generally overeat, but pay attention and as soon as they go up 5-10 lbs, reign it in and diet until thin again... and then repeat.
