Some of her past research has explored the reproduction of hegemonic masculinity in a collegiate student service organization following implementation of Title IX and how women “do gender” in Southern sorority recruitment.

'hegemonic masculinity' is masculinity proper, as commonly understood -- as opposed to 'alternative masculinity' of some kind, which does not seek to be 'hegemonic' i.e. 'patriarchal.'
