If I'd taken it, I'd have had about 2k left in checking after cashing out everything. I thought "that's not enough, I can't take this now, gonna wait. maybe a couple more paychecks." Business was slowing down at my old job, and in weak months I wouldn't get a $500 monthly bonus.
This was March 7th. A week later I got my paycheck with bonus. The price of ETH at that time is obviously a matter of public record, and I live in a 400 sq ft studio |

I realize it sounds like a lame post-hoc rationalization, but before crypto I'd never owned an equity of any type and knew nothing about markets or trading.
It seems obvious now to sell during a blow-off top, but until you've actually experienced it it's very easy to get caught up in the bullish euphoria or get hung up on details like finding the best tax strategy before selling. I'm not worried or depressed or anything because I believe in crypto long term and will now be prepared for the next bull market. |
