It has to be a nightmare to be an executive at a prominent company now, because a stray comment in a meeting could be reported to the NYT, resulting in your career being destroyed.
The funny thing is the ad (below) shows a white man with a black woman - which data shows is the least common type of interracial couple. The guy's comment is 100% correct, but it doesn't matter - he is going to get the help he needs to unlearn these facts.

On a conference call this spring with colleagues, Mr. Harford, the company’s chief operating officer, critiqued a new ad that showed a mixed-race couple, said five people familiar with the conversation. He debated aloud how common the pairing was among the audiences that would see it. He also said he found parts of the ad’s early cut confusing, mixing up two black women in the video because they had similar hairstyles, said the people, who declined to be identified because they have signed nondisclosure agreements.

Only 11 percent of 2008 intermarriages were between black and white Americans, reflecting the persistent cultural resistance against relationships between these races. Most common were marriages between a white and a Hispanic (41 percent), followed by marriage between a white and an Asian American (15 percent).

In 2014, user data on OkCupid showed that most men on the site rated black women as less attractive than women of other races and ethnicities. T |
