The left was able to paint the modern conservative movement as dangerous racist Nazis due to what happened there. It may be remembered in the same breath as Selma, AL in terms of it's symbolism.
The right, especially younger conservatives, learned that leftists have been playing the political activist game for decades and shitlibs know all the rules of how this game is played.
In Charlottesville, the right (hopefully) learned what not to do. Political activism, demonstrations, rallies, etc. are for the purpose of swaying public opinion in your favor. There were some well meaning conservatives who got routed in Charlottesville in terms of achieving the goals of their movement.
It was nice to see the DC rally head-fake and see that, maybe, the conservative movement learned from their mistakes. |
