I'm at the grocery store this morning and the cashier is asking every customer whether they want to "round up" to the nearest dollar "to provide vitamins to mothers and children in need."
Everyone is rounding up.
I'm standing in line thinking there is some vitamin company that is having trouble selling its vitamins so they get people to "donate" to this "charity" and then the vitamin company sells its vitamins at a profit to this bullshit charity.
So the vitamin company makes a profit that it wouldn't have made, these people running the bullshit charity get paid a salary to run their scam, and malnourished people get free vitamins. Win-win-win!!!
So when the cashier asks me if I want to round up I say no and then I ask him whether the vitamin companies are making a profit on this and he goes, "Oh, no! It is called Vitamin Angels! Look them up!"
So I did. And I think I'm right. I think it is a bigger scam than I originally thought.
