Children are amazing. The first year is the easiest. It only gets tougher as they get older.
Children also made me more stable. Having my two daughters made me realize I am a degenerate alcoholic and helped me find the motivation to stop drinking. Why did you think you wouldn’t be stable? |

I think I had normal fears about my stability - especially given some history of depression in the women in my family (my mom was also pretty awful) -- I was also afraid to lose the central focus of my husband, who I would say healed a lot of the sense of self my parents didn't successfully help me build ... things have worked out though |

(im autistic..but not gay). these guys CUT weight to be 155 on weigh-in day. lightweight division fighters range from 165lb (10 weight cut) to up to 175 or sometimes even 180 in extreme cases. nate diaz weighs 180lb. when he was on conan he looked way bigger than when conor was on conan. he also has a pic with leonardo dicaprio who is 160lb and he looks much larger than him. he competed in welterweight a couple of times but got wrestle fucked like a doll so came back down. keeps agitating for a 165lb division now cause his case sux -- either cut a lot of weight to go to 155 or cut just 10lb and get fucked up in welterweight. although his scrawny bitch ass could put on some muscle and get beefed up to like 190lb and fight at welterweight. for some reason hes against that... cause that would defeat his fighting style where he just throws a tornado of many punches on fighters and drowns them in shit until they cant breathe and then submits them or knocks them out or punches them real hard. that takes a lot of energy and with bigger muscles might be tougher to accomplish. i guess hes just stuck cutting 25lb... oh well.

3) during daylight, expose them to sunlight as much as possible to sync up their rhythm
4) be so strict about sleep routine that you don't have a life - it's what I did, and it worked (although it was not great for my overall wellness/level of activity)
5) feed them every two hours, whether they want to or not - this will reassure them that they get lots of food during the day
6) avoid dream feeding
7) none of this may be true - it's much more likely you either get a good sleeper or you don't - just like anything else, i.e. temperament, etc.

he never napped in stroller, he never napped away from crib -- I lived in prison for his sleep, to be honest -- I'm not a hero; just a type-A freak |

I had my first two close together (less than two years apart) and it was rough. They’re still SO dependent at 2. It’s a tough balance. Closer together is an up front cost but I think they often have a closer relationship that way. My first was so young she never remembered her little brother not being around and didn’t get as jealous about toys and stuff. Part of that is obviously just personality too. Too far apart though (like 4+ years) and I think it’s harder for them to have a close relationship. Our 2nd and 3rd were three years apart and it was much easier to deal with. They all get along pretty well, even with the five year gap from oldest to youngest.
Ultimately, they’re all different. It should be obvious, but you’d be surprised. Often whatever worked for one won’t work at all for the second. You’ll feel like you’re relearning it all again. You’ll be twice as tired and laugh when you think of how tired and stressed you (thought you) were with one. But watching the siblings interact is by far the best part about parenting. Good luck! |

if there are jobs you really want or people you want to connect with, ask them to coffee, send hand-written notes, make calls to people who can get you meetings, etc. maybe it's boomer of me to insist, but millennials are so unlikeable in the workplace that if you can grin and show a lot of interest (make *them* feel special), you could find more open doors
