It occurs to me that some ethnic groups (i.e. blacks, hispanics) may be more inclined to seek legal involvement in smaller cases than other ethnic groups (i.e., whites, Asians) are inclined to do. That is, other ethnic groups (whites-particularly middle-class whites) would simply prefer to resolve their smaller cases with adjusters on their own.
As a result, your settlements for blacks may be for less because on balance and on average, the cases they bring to you are worth less overall.
If I am correct, this means that blacks are supplying you with a steady stream of smaller cases, and their contribution to your professional success should not be discounted. This may also mean that it is not discrimination against black clients necessarily that accounts for the difference in respective case settlement numbers.
Just something to consider. It may be comforting to know you are not discriminating against ethnic groups in the quality of your work. Nor are you closing your doors to certain ethnic groups.

U can look at it many diff ways, but i think that cumskins on the defense side just value nigga cases less.... its quite clear why
and im not discriminating, most ppl in my position prob dont even take dindu cases, i imagine there is massive racism in the plaintiffs bar ironically
oh and overall i dont need black clients, they havent helped me, my worst clients have been AA, i can do without out, some cases worked out but overall i get way less for them and they cause lots of probs |

However, you are seeing racism on the part of insurance companies where it may be that the adjusters (and their defense attys) are simply tracking the jury verdict data in their offers.
Maybe a question to ask is: On average, are jury verdicts less for black plaintiffs than for white plaintiffs in comparable cases (same specials, same extent of property damage, same liability picture, same degree of cooperation w medical treatment, same degree of presentation as witness)?
