I know that intellectual dishonesty is your thing in political threads, but try to link to the Democrats offering Trump $25 billion for the wall in exchange for Dreamer "protection," and Trump turning it down.

They were close under this framework in Jan 2018. You're right that Trump wasn't solely responsible for blowing that up. But he didn't even need a democratic vote to get that passed. He fucked up with the Republicans too.

Link to the Dems indicating they would agree to that? My recollection is he was trying to get funding in exchange for DACA and then the courts ruled in favor of DACA and it was dropped b/c there was no more bargaining room. Dems never even remotely said yes.

I think they're effective at preventing invasions of city states when no one has air support, but yeah, the wall won't reduce illegal immigration.

Nothing is effective without a wall. Dems would pay for enough agents to stand along the entire border within eyesight of each other to catch anyone trying to come over, rather than a wall which "won't work." There's no such thing as border security without a wall so it's all moot.

Why is Nancy unwilling to address a HUMANITARIAN crisis with DACA over a wall? It's all politics/optics. They're scared b/c they KNOW the wall will work.

There is no humanitarian crisis on the wall. The caravans are the Fyre festivals of Honduras.

What's going to be more effective against a caravan:

A wall, which they have to figure out how to scale (and many of whom will be injured in the process), during which time agents and resources can be scrambled to that spot

or

The couple of agents in the vicinity who are immediately overrun, and the caravan is long gone by the time support can get there.

https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/borders-and-walls-do-barriers-deter-unauthorized-migration

if walls don't work, then how come other countries continue to build them? why has the us continued building with bipartisan support, and only now the democrats oppose them because it's what trump wants?

smugly saying shit like "this isn't the medieval ages" just makes you look unreasonable or an npc that gets his cues from maher and john oliver.

I think the 25 million was offered in exchange for a path to citizenship for like 3 million people. A 3 year extension of a program that has already been protected by the courts (and not picked up by scotus) isn't an offer of anything. Nobody anywhere is seriously contemplating preventing daca people from staying and continuing to work here at this point.
