I don't know if anybody else here has read James Clavell's Shogun, but there's a scene where the main character Blackthorne revisits his Dutch crew after a few months advising the Japanese. Even though he used to live in the exact same way of them, thanks to his months living among the clean, cultured Japanese, he's horrified at how coarse, vulgar, and dirty they are.

-The host was in his mid-20s, but it was at his parents' house since he still lives with them.

-Tons of attendees were late 20s, but still pursuing aimless graduate studies or had dead-end jobs despite being qualified for more.

-None of them were married, and most weren't in any kind of marriage-track relationship either.

-A lot of people there were overweight, badly-dressed, and clearly didn't exercise.

-Several people were unbearably soy and held NPC views. Every conversation, on any topic, would be an opportunity to insert references to Star Wars, Dragon Show, or recent Marvel movies, which are clearly their main sources of meaning and enjoyment in life.

This wasn't some intense normie community either. Most of them were objectively well-educated, and it was a group of trad Catholics who almost all attend Latin Mass. It just felt like most of them were spending their 20s in aimless wandering instead of using their peak years to achieve important life goals.
