2. "military-style" quartz watch off Amazon ( https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AWPR3KI ) on a rubber strap that I wear when I'm wearing a lot of sunscreen, going to the beach, or it might get wet and I don't want to wear the Speedy. This was bought in haste before a trip once, but I like it and it's held up well - finish, alignment, etc. is all solid.
3. Cartier gold dress watch on an alligator strap that I got as a wedding present from my wife's uncle. I've worn it once. I don't know what model it is, but it isn't a Santos, Tank, or Ronde. It's in our safe deposit box. I appreciate the gift but it's way too dressy for anything I ever do, and I don't like the dead animal strap.
If I were to get anything else, it would be a Nomos for when I'm wearing a sportcoat, and a pilot's watch for casual wear (I like the IWC one, but would likely get a Stowa for 1/4 the price - I bought my brother one as a milestone birthday present and like it). |
