From what I can tell, there is a near consensus among young liberal journalists (at least among people willing to tweet about it) that the totally milquetoast letter is somehow dangerous, supporting white supremacy, etc. The reactions seems to prove the signatories' point... but also suggest that they are standing on the beach futilely yelling at a tidal wave about to crash. Pretty disconcerting stuff... |
