I had some money saved up prior and I'm living at my parent's house. Fortunately for me, they're retired and at their beach house for the winter. So I got the place to myself. I do uber eats delivery when I'm bored and I got a student loan to cover tuition. I wasn't in any debt prior and was thinking theres a good chance it could get forgiven in the future |

Things all sort started to come together for me to make me pull the trigger on going back to school. I had just turned 29. I was making decent money(110k) but my job sucked. I spent 80% of the day on conference calls, had this jew shrew project manager girl constantly checking on me and she asked me to start doing time sheets. it wasnt even that i sucked at my job, i got great reviews. this chick was just a micromanager and i didnt even report to her lol. i tripped on some acid one weekend and realized how unhappy i was. then a week later shit started closing down because of the pandemic and i took that as a sign so i started making plans to go back to school. |

I was an IT Business Analyst so alot of my former job was talking about the problem rather than actually working on it. I'm the same way as you, I just want to be left alone and do some chill coding in peace.
I just started the first week and I'm taking 12 hours: Foundations of Programming (looks like it'll be Java) Computer Architecture and OS Data Structures and Algorithms Mathematical Structures of CS
It's all 5000 level graduate classes and meant to get students from a non-CS background up to speed and ready for a MSCS. Depending on how the experience goes I'll either stick with this school for the MSCS and start this summer/fall, or go the GTOMCS route.
I'm still very new to all of this, right now I'm trying to figure out what IDE i want to use |

The closest I got to coding would be building an integration. I made decent money with my job(110k) but I was a little bitch boy and always had to be available. I'd spend 80% of my day on conference calls with dumbass clients, gathering requirements, building spec sheets, keeping management "in the loop". Basically my job devolved into more talking about the problem rather than working on the problem.
If some dumbass VP or Director came up to me and wanted a report developed, I'd have to stop what I was doing and work on that. Whereas the software engineering guys were shielded from a lot of that. They had multiple layers to protect them, ticket systems, PM support, etc. |
