If you're going fixed weight, your options are:
- York: https://yorkbarbell.com/product/rubber-hex-dumbbell/ -- this is probably your best bet, as you can buy individual dumbbells piecemeal
- Troy: https://www.elitefts.com/shop/bars-weights/dumbbells.html
- Rogue: https://www.roguefitness.com/conditioning/strength-equipment/dumbbells
- Iron Company: https://www.ironcompany.com/free-weights/dumbbells
- Fitness Factory: https://www.fitnessfactory.com/free-weights/free-weight-packages/
Frankly, if you're getting fixed weight, the brand doesn't really matter; there are no moving parts and weight is weight. Sets are going to be expensive though.
If you want adjustable dumbbells, that's different; I wouldn't fuck with things like the bowflex block ones unless you just need pretty small ones; they get expensive, there aren't a lot of heavy options, and there are moving parts that can break. If you want adjustable or you're going to get some really heavy dumbbells (a pair of 150lb Rogue dumbbells is nearly $900), I'd just get some loadable handles, collars, and some plate weights: https://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-loadable-dumbbells

have used york plenty and never had a problem as long as you're not slamming them down
adjustables are 180 except for the time it takes to load them and change weights; with the rouge dumbbell plates above, I'd wager a lot of that is mitigated. they're also just way more cost effective. I like em.
good cost guideline, but those aren't floating around much these days lol.
