i was a scrappy prole growing up but never had any formal combat sports training (i wrestled for a few years though). kind of irks me that smaller and weaker dudes than me could likely take me down because of their training. i think grown men fighting is extremely prole and ape-like and would never engage unless there was no other option, but i imagine that if i was arguing with opposing counsel or something, knowing that i could make them tap would give me some extra confidence.

am i being autistic here? i have a lot of bros into mma and bjj on facebook and they sometimes post about the feeling of knowing they could protect their kid or wife if they had to. but they're prole. the chance i would ever have to use it irl is near 0.

the people are GREAT people. it's like the wrestling room all over again. i would say even moreso because this room is harder to get to meaning that as kids lives are easy...you don't have life hurdles in the way of getting to the room. all those life hurdles you jump to get the room creates camaraderie that is different. all kinds of people are in the room to. zoomers, millennials, old men (i train with a 70 year old flip immigrant, he's the fucking mascot of the place).

since you wrestled you already know what's expected.
