1. The Pfizer is 95% effective, but the control group is people who are already "FULLY VAXED". So Fully Vaxed means jack shit.
2. In fact, Berenson points out the "Fully Vaxed" group is more likely to have contracted COVID then the unvaxed control group was in the original trial. Some of that is due to delta and increased prevalence, but it's pretty damning when you think about it that literally fully vaxed people in August 2021 are more likely to get COVID then unvaxed folks in August 2020.... |

Yes, it seems obvious now that the vaccines are somewhat of a disappointment in preventing infection especially over time. Maybe the boosters won't wear off as fast or maybe they will. But they vaccines are not "useless" since they are still strongly effective against severe COVID and decently effective against infection (see NYC states on case rates in vax'd vs. unvax'd below)

More importantly, the vaccines didn't really work. We've gone from 95% protection to "it might prevent you from dying" pretty quickly. |
