Bobcats stay the fuck away from humans - I have never seen one in an urban environment and even when I lived in a place where they were 100% present and occasionally fucked with someone's outdoor housecat, I never got a clear look at one. |

But they're expensive both the get and feed and it isn't totally clear how you regularly exercise a cat that runs up to 75 mph. They take them to the desert and let them run. They're not particularly useful and a ton of bother, so they're not many actually do this. They apparently have a very mild temperament.
I've heard of people that tried to keep mountain lions as pets but a bunch of them have awful stories. Long story short, that's a really bad idea unless you get super lucky.
Servals are way more common (tons of vids on YouTube). They walk well on leash. But again, it just comes down to a) laws, and b) the PITA of dealing with a giant cat that you can't just let outside. Most people that decide the want a huge cat just get a Maine Coon or something. |
