Guns have always been easily accessible - people in rural areas would take their guns to school up until the 70s. There's no avoiding the fact that the minimum you have to admit about guns is that they're a necessary, not sufficient condition - if you don't see how that statement isn't up for discussion not sure what to tell you
To state the obvious - it's not monocausal - and it's certainly not *caused* by guns (although they're a necessary condition)
You can't really remove the necessary condition for obvious reasons - marginal regulation does what? Makes it marginally harder for people to *legally* obtain guns? Okay sure maybe but so does banning alcohol use save far more lives, lowering the speed limit etc
