I'm going to take the Dec. 2nd LSAT, and the scores on my practice tests aren't what I would like them to be. A friend of mine takes adderall and offered to let me have some. If I take it, should I expect an improved score?

no. it doesnt make you smarter. take some tommorow and see if it helps you study. if you like it, use it to study a few times and then take it during the test. dont take it just for the test.

Why, certainly. Taking a drug you've never tried before on one of the more important days of your life sounds like a splendid idea.

obviously there's a reason college, law, and med students shell out cash for those orange smart pills when studying for and then taking exams. you spend $100K on tuition, what's another $100-150 for a week's worth of exams?

I'm actually on something very similar right now to help me write my paper (due tomorrow). I think it increases my performance, but, obviously doesn't prevent me from getting distracted

Practice on it! Do not take it just once.

For me, my score increase was because I read more carefully and became more focused. Try it and see.

TITCR 110%.

OP: The first time I took a practice test on that stuff, my score instantly jumped by 5 or 6 points. Just follow this guy's advice and practice on it to get comfortable with it.

Placebo effect. Especially suspect as a causative factor if you're talking about scores you made on Practice Test 1 and Practice Test 2.

There's nothing unusual about a jump of five points between your first exposure to a test and a retest. If he said it made a huge difference between tests 12 and 13, he might have a point. Otherwise, he's just some deluded pill-popping dumbass.
