One particularly bad (and dumb) piece of financial advice that I hear repeatedly on xoxo is that you shouldn't invest in a 401k because the government is going to seize it to pay for "shitlib programs." Honestly that advice is so stupid that I can't tell if people actually believe it or if it is some kind of shtick and I'm just autistic. For starters, the Democrats couldn't find the votes to enact a wealth tax on literal billionaires when they controlled both houses of Congress, so I doubt that they are going to be targeting the 401k's of middleclassmos any time soon. That point aside, if the Dems did try to enact some kind of wealth tax, I have never heard a coherent explanation of why they would only try to "seize" 401k's rather than taxable accounts or real estate/cars/crypto/whatever else you might do with your money. And if you refuse to participate in your company's 401k when they have an employer match, you are losing massive amounts of free money.

401k's are just a way to invest in stocks you fucking moron. I can buy TSLA (or any other stock) in my 401k. The only difference is that my gains aren't taxed until I withdraw the money. So you honestly believe that the government is going to "seize" stocks that you buy in a 401k but they are going to leave your TSLA alone because they are in a taxable account? If anything, the opposite is far more likely. Also, while it may be possible to "hide" crypto, that's pretty useless if you can't convert it to USD. And it's easy enough for the government to take its cut when you try to do that.
