Why?

Linear algebra just watch the Gilbert strang series on mit ocw alongside your class or don't go to class at all

Undergrad ODE classes are a mess. Read this pdf for some context so you're not wondering wtf is going on

What kind of rancid TTT requires differential equations to study statistics? Linear algebra, maybe, but even then you won't really use it until you hit grad-level statistics courses. But differential equations are completely useless for statmos.

Wut? I mean, basic knowledge of linear algebra is helpful for understanding multiple regression, but it's not essential by any means. You can easily learn undergrad-level statistics without any knowledge of linear algebra. Indeed, I copped a PhD in stat from one of the top programs despite having taken only one undergraduate linear algebra course. I wish I had taken more, but it's definitely not necessary.

In linear algebra, I remember I actually had to have some sort of conceptual understanding of what's going on.

I hope you have an actual purpose other than for misguided vanity etc. Almost universally math is what people work the hardest at but retain the least after college. If you got a pure math degree at 21-22 and didn't continue in a heavy research field (PhD, postdoc, etc), by 25/26 it'd be like you never even went to college

You can't understand quantum theory or machine learning, let alone statistics theory, without some conceptual grasp of linear algebra. Even if you forget how to do the operations after the semester is over, during the brief period of time you understand it you'll gain a lot of insight from seeing how it's applied.

See my comment above. If you are considering grad statistics, then drop differential equations and do analysis instead. Differential equations is utterly useless for a statistician. Linear algebra is helpful, but not really essential. Analysis, however is essential for any decent grad program in statistics. They may admit you without it, but it will be much harder. And you'll have to take it anyway after you are admitted.

Where the hell are you going to school that doesn't offer analysis? That's like the most fundamental math class there is. But if you are serious about that, I'll do a quick search and see if there is anything decent on Coursera or EdX or similar platforms. But I don't know if stat grad programs would accept a Coursera analysis class in lieu of analysis at an accredited school.

This is a dumb comment. It's true that I wouldn't be able to do (for example) abstract algebra without consulting my old textbooks, but when I have had to do math that I learned decades earlier, it came back very quickly with a little studying. It's actually much easier now that we have tools like Wolfram Alpha to help.

Little yellow book for linear algebra is all you need

It's rote memorization but it was hard imo. Most everyone I know thought it wasn't.

dude, Artin's book sucks. It reads like an informal conversation. Maybe it's okay for freshman learning algebra, but Dummit and Foote for instance is the gold standard for a real algebra course. The dumb math majors took the Artin algebra class.

Studying for 3rd DE test right now. Professor is putting us through 9 of the 10 book chapters, which I think is actually a lot for one semester.
