Got tired of dealing with unreliable retarded lawn guys, so I bought a mower of my own. It, like most of the others offered at Home Depot now, uses a re-chargable lithium battery. Seems 180 so far- was only 350 bucks yet it cranks with the push of a button (no cord-pulling), requires no gas or even oil, and is much quieter than the gas-powered ones.

must be a 180 feeling to mow your own lawn on a Saturday morning only to have the battery crap out 3/4 of the way through then spend the entire day with a retarded looking yard while it recharges and then having to get up on Sunday morning to finish the job instead of sleeping in.

don't worry for only $249 you can buy an extra battery that should do the trick for at least 1-2 seasons before they go to shit and you have to replace them with battery #3 and #4!

cool man, we all like to spend our time in different ways.

so why do you have such a strong opinion on gas versus electric landscaping equipment if you don't do landscaping? and how informed is your opinion anyway if you don't use it?

this like if i said "titleist is far superior to ping" and then admitted i don't play golf. what?

i've had a battery powered mower for 3 years now. i'm also into mechanics and did small engine repair when younger, so i'm fine with a gas powered stuff.

if your angle here is convenience i don't think it's any contest -- even when properly maintained gas tools are going to have more problems when used by a homeowner.

gas tools are superior if you need power and long run times (e.g. professionals). electric are superior for almost every other household task. how long have when been using battery powered hand tools over plug-ins and air powered?

i don't think you've done much research into modern battery powered equipment then. i've got over 1/2 acre and landscaping and a weedwacker doesn't lose half it's charge.

i was a gasmo up until a couple years ago. yes, historically the electric shit was junk. but now battery tech has caught up. my electric mower and weedwacker do fine on a fairly large and landscaped property.

"gas tools are superior if you need power and long run times (e.g. professionals). electric are superior for almost every other household task."

how does this conflict with what i said?

most homeowners don't need to routinely use a chainsaw. chainsaws require a lot more power than cutting grass and trimming shit. chainsaws go outside of the "almost every" bucket.

I paid Home Depot a couple thousand for a fridge and then said "you know what? just keep it - I don't even want my money back."

Top that.

I have the Toro electric mower and it is 180. I also got the Toro snowblower which uses the same battery but it is really shitty.

I fixed my old POS Briggs& Stratton one too many times and decided to just bite the bullet and buy an electric.

Undeniably faggy but I love being able to mow the lawn early am without bothering people.

I do worry that once it breaks I'll junk it because I don't know the first thing about repairing these.

When we were kids I didn't know a single person who hired a company to do a regular residential lawn. Either diy or pay a local "teen." Only commercial properties hired companies.

Now most of my block has these lawn contractors where swarms of central Americans come in twice a week. It's a marked shift

Same. I don't even understand it, I find mowing the lawn to be relaxing and enjoyable especially when the weather is nice.

I have thick luscious grass in my yard that clogs the shit out of regular shitmowers, especially because I inevitably would let it go for a few weeks and it would get way too long. so it's either hire someone or spend out the ass for a really nice mower. Plus I have a few feet behind my fence that a ZTR can't get to so I'd need a second shitmower too to keep that up. My lawn bros already were doing like half of my street anyways so they added me for $45 a cut. kind of a no brainer to avoid the pain in the ass.

Electric mowers are OK for light duty but if your lawn ever gets even a little bit out of hand, they will choke on high grass. They don't have the power.

this is cr. outside of big electric shit you cannot get the same power. this is actually a positive for me since it incentivizes me to stay on top of my lawn.

At least one company now makes an electric ZTR. I don’t think I could pull the trigger on something like that but I do like their trimmer and leaf blowers
