If the goal is to get Gaza so defeated that they just give up, Israel is doing a pretty good job. And it may be a necessary one. The message is clear: Israel will destroy Gaza on an unbelievable scale if you mess with Israel. But Israel is being nice. 100 years ago Israel would have just kicked out all the Gazans into Egypt. 200 years ago Israel would have marched all the Gazans into the sea.
And Israel would be doing it with the full knowledge that if they didn't, the Gazans would only treat them even worse.
Gazans would be better off joining a global diaspora and rebuilding life elsewhere instead of spending centuries consumed by hatred that never gets them anywhere but the shitty third world they built for themselves. |
