regardless, i think they're pretty responsive. trump could certainly have found a bank to underwrite his ipo without a lockup provision. the fact he went with one anyway should give you some clue as to how precarious his finances are. the stock is not being purchased by institutional investors, it's being bought by individual trump fans, who don't give two shits about a lock-up period and don't even know what that is. you think the price would be significantly different if trump didn't agree to a lock up? you think people are rationally investing in this stock? no, it's just people who like trump. |

without selling the stock trump could get the board to allow a carve out allowing him to pledge it as collateral for loans. this avoids him tanking the stock and would give him access to billions in cash. |
