trump owns over 50% of trust.social, and his stake is valued at about $6b. the value of the stock is propped up by a lot of individual investors who are trump supporters. because they buy the stock, the price increases, and so does the value of trump's stake in the company. if you need any other finance 101 lessons please lmk.

regardless, i think they're pretty responsive. trump could certainly have found a bank to underwrite his ipo without a lockup provision. the fact he went with one anyway should give you some clue as to how precarious his finances are. the stock is not being purchased by institutional investors, it's being bought by individual trump fans, who don't give two shits about a lock-up period and don't even know what that is. you think the price would be significantly different if trump didn't agree to a lock up? you think people are rationally investing in this stock? no, it's just people who like trump. |
