Inhousemos: do you put much time and effort in updating your resume?

My wife is HR and says no one really gives a shit - there’s just looking to see if you got a need. I want to believe ther but then I looked online and it looks like people go bananas with executive summaries, describing specific projects etc. Can someone convince me that that isn’t necessary? By mid-career you should be looking for new work via your industry network and competitive for new roles based on the obvious strength of your current and past roles. |

If you decide to stay in law, the thing you want to keep in mind is that your resume is being read by HR dolts who know nothing about the law or legal skills, and if you're going for less than GC, is also being read by a pedantic shithead hiring manager who takes his craft very seriously. There's really only one CR approach with that understanding. |
