The shipowners' interests will file for limitation of liability under the Shipowners Limitation of Liability Act of 1851. If owners' are able to limit, their liability would be limited to the value of the DALI post-casualty (which is a lot less now because she is quite damaged) plus pending freight.

Container ship like that minus repairs will be worth something probably. $10m maybe. Pending freight, $3-4m maybe. But yeah, that’s the law.
