there are enormous consequences for a husband hitting his wife: his life has a good chance of being completely over if he does this. but there are zero consequences for a wife hitting her husband

with this knowledge alone, we can infer that there must be more women hitting their husbands than vice versa

respondents means people had the chance to not respond. we don't know how many potential respondents there were. there could be a bias in the reporters

i am skeptical that in one-way abuse situations, more women are the perpetrators
