You have to sit in traffic for an hour. Where else are they pulling people from, San Diego, San Bernardino? OC is just an awkward place there's not usually a lot of reason to go there and it feels out of the way. The Ducks for example are the smallest market in the entire NHL. Where are you going to build a new stadium anyway? It's already close to the freeway and has easy parking. What could possibly entice more people to go to Angels games. I just don't see it. If you put it anywhere else it would be impossible to get to. OC has no downtown area, no real concentration of people. And Dodgers fans are real dug in I can't see expanding the fanbase much. They literally had $1 (Canadian!) game nights, two for one promotions, promotions where if the team lost fans got refunded. I mean, it was sad sack. Idk why you get a fuzzy feeling about them. But there's a larger issue: the Canadian economy cannot compete with America for spending. NHL Canada hasn't been relevant since the early 90s. Their economy is basically not growing at all and they'll never be spendmos. They just can't compete financially. There are tons of places in the US that can support MLB franchise. |

i watch basically every red sox game during the season. there are plenty of other baseball degenerates like me. imo its the best sport. |
