Maybe the tomb/cave was cool, around 40-50°F. It would have slowed down decomposition, like a refrigerator. Maybe this is where all bodies were put before they were prepared for burial. Why are spices being added 3 days after? He’s already entombed. They are added to the body prior to burial/entombment to mask the smell
