Cell phone bans will emerge as rich white phenomenon, and then not having one

I predict the emergence of other "classy" white events banning cell phones. Upscale weddings. Pricy resorts. Private clubs.
And, with time, there will emerge a conspicuous show of elitism in not OWNING or CARRYING a phone. Phone-staring and phone-having will become a mark of the servant class. |

You couldn’t pull out a cell phone in most of the elite social clubs in the US without being in a designated call room. No one had them out at the bar or the social rooms. Likewise almost all weddings had requests for guests to put their phones away, at least for the ceremony.
All of that no longer exists. Phones are 24/7 and will be for the foreseeable future in all places. |
