I prefer to do a roast on my Weber Kettle. A single Tenderloin yields like 16 steaks. You can have 4 per day for 4 days.

You could go with any number of sauces. A burgundy sauce. A peppercorn sauce. A Greek yogurt sauce. Everyone likes a quart of warm yogurt on their back.

Using a grill outdoors is still work. Buying and prepping the meat. Seasoning the steak. Cleaning and prepping the grill. Gathering and carrying everything outside. Bringing it back inside. Making the sides. Setting the table. Microwaving popcorn is easy. Grilling a steak is not "easy" and it takes inordinate time for all of the above. And that's before even getting into asking people how they want it cooked, throwing it on the grill and possibly fucking it up. And then you need to clean it all up in the end. How is that easy?

Not to mention the post-tax money spent on all of the above, and the forgone earnings (and compounded savings on the earnings) from having to do all of that. Conservatively ur talking about tens of thousands of dollars for that "easy" steak.

I like how you think. The foregone earnings from the time spent at the store(s) sourcing the supplies, the preptime, the cook time, the cost of fuel, the clean up, the first cut. All of that, if appropriately invested in the SP500 and left alone for 50 years, that could yield quite a princely sum. The cost of a good steak, it may be tens of thousands more than you think!

Cast iron is fine and you can heat up cast iron on a grill outside just like you could in an oven or a stove top. Grill opens up the possibility of doing whole roasts with the reverse sear method. And when you slice in it’s better. After doing whole roasts, I prefer that and then cutting after allowing the meat to rest than I do preparing individual steaks. Yes there is less crust, but there’s something to be said for the colour you can get and the aromas.

It's incredibly easy.

Buy piece of meat, season with salt and maybe some pepper, heat up pan, put steak in pan, flip, remove from pan, eat.

It's actually ridiculously easy. My steaks are better than 99% of steakhouses. The 1% better than me are only better because of the quality of the meat they're able to obtain, e.g., dry aged bone-in USDA prime NY strip

Nah this is not cr. Steakhouses are 180 and ordering bottom sirloin cuts / flank steak at non-steakhouse is extremely underrated as a go to entree order imo.

not flame, if you get over any "prole tell" jewish neuroses, Texas Roadhouse is a 180 place for a family dinner.

Everyone gets big decent steaks, tons of sides, strong drinks for the adults, refilled sodas, plates of bread, great flirty service, cozy booths... zero pretension and you can do it at about $30 per kid, $50 per adult.

highly cr

What you should do at the TX Roadhouse is get the sirloin. Then order double salad as your side. Then when it comes, cut up the sirloin and eat with your salad and you have a great big steak salad. HIGHLY CREDITED.
