men and women are not supposed to be around each other all the time and reach a high level of familiarity with each other. sexual attraction for women only happens when there's a feeling of unfamiliarity and unpredictability and even danger. modern "marriage" puts men and women around each other constantly, every single day, to the extent that some guys even work more hours than they'd like to in order to get extra time away from home

the truth is that no woman stays attracted to her husband unless he is extremely physically attractive and/or extremely high status, and even then it fades for a lot of them. modern marriage just doesn't make any sense. it's objectively just a straight up bad deal for the man and men should not be doing it

What I find strange & sad is that they are both *just* like their dads, but their dads both graduated college and were assigned a cheerful middle class housewife more or less as a matter of course. it just happened for that age, and does not for ours. something has changed in the intervening generation and idk what exactly it is.

technological progress and secularization of society eventually reached a tipping point. within the lifetime of any individual nobody cared that much because in general both of these things have pushed society and civilization forward, and it takes multiple generations to really see the impact of what we lose as a tradeoff. it's just another case of "something humanity had but lost as culture/technology evolved", but unfortunately the march of progress and invisible hand of rand and a16z doesn't have any immediate fixes for the inceldom it's created.
