My understanding is that your accent improves when you interact with others who speak the language. You're also speaking.
If you're only listening, your mouth muscles aren't doing the work to change.
Here's ChatGPT take on this:
Improving accent solely by passive listening is challenging. While exposure to English through listening can certainly help with vocabulary, comprehension, and overall language skills, actively practicing speaking is typically necessary to improve accent.
To enhance your accent, it's essential to actively engage in speaking exercises, mimic native speakers, practice pronunciation, and receive feedback from native speakers or language instructors. Additionally, listening to various accents and paying attention to intonation, stress patterns, and rhythm can also contribute to accent improvement.

these are not really mexicans
in most latam countries, mexico included, there is a ruling white upper crust that live completely detached from the rest of their native brethren. it is almost like they occupy and operate in a different dimension.
they go to different schools, listen and consume different media and are much closer to the american middle class than the rest of their countrymen.

Not upset jew, TALENTED jew.
My poast might be too nuanced for you, in fact.
Salma Hayek has lived in the US longer than the Mexicans I poasted here. But she lived here as an adult. Belongs to the same social class.
Here's her English, proving my point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK2Kpn3fv6k
