Woman reveals how she was forced to sell her beloved dream home within one year after this huge hidden cost

Tamra Ransom bought her home in Polk County last May

She was forced to sell it less than a year later after her property tax soared

Her property tax was hiked by 174 percent, from $2,700 a year to $4,700, making it too expensive for her to continue living there and forcing her to put the home back on the market.

$7400, not $4700 and yea that sucks shit. if shit like that becomes a nationwide trend then that might finally force boomers' hands and make them sell.

Wow they fixed the typo but didn't print a correction statement.

Ok, a $5k property tax bill rise in one year is legit pretty awful, but she should have seen it coming.

no, it's just all around shit. municipalities should manage this shit better, you can't just jack people like that. they're going to end up in a fire sale situation and prob lose tax revenue in the end.

Florida has limits on owner-occupied tax increases. When the house was sold the tax gets reset. Her (((realtor(TM)))) should have awared her on this.
