the finally some good news book

it was OK. i read it in a couple hours. very easy read. it played around with jumping back in forth in time and with different narratives without any sort of prior acknowledgment, very abrupt transition shifts, which was very strange

i'm glad he toned back the sex stuff slightly, which was 95% of "the pussy" which was incredibly repetitive

overall i would give it a 5/10. easy, light reading (light reading including cannibal rape gangs).

he has two other books - are they worth reading? i do not want another novel like "the pussy"

non-fiction nietzsche's on the genealogy of morality had the biggest impact on me, even though i don't really like his writing style very much. i really liked tolstoy's confessions and junger's war journals had a big impact on me, as did guido preparata's conjuring hitler and stephan hoeller's gnosticism: new light on the ancient tradition

fiction wise i really loved gore vidal's julian (his "creation" was pretty good too), richard bachmann (stephen king's alter ego very early in his career)'s the running man, which is nothing at all like the movie. i also loved american psycho, the richard stark parker books. recently i read the independently published "incel" and it was really quite good

i have a lot more to read though to catch up on things. for example i have not read doestoevsky except for the sub-part in the brothers karamazov about the grand inquisitor

neither fiction nor non-fiction really "clicked" with me much until i was able to solidify my understanding of how the world worked
