Fun Fact: the Miami Major League Baseball franchise was originally named after the famous italian-american actor and Stanislavski-system pioneer, but the team couldn't afford his likeness, so they used a swordfish as their emblem and mascot. Over time, this led locals and fans to begin referring to IRL swordfish as "marlons", or, later, after brando won a 1998 NIL-misappropriation lawsuit against the franchise, "marlins".
Brando spent much of the later years of his life, and all of his wages from the 2003 Bobby De Niro-Eddie Norton film "The Score", combatting the spread of the name, which he considered an affront to the native Timucua tribe of Florida, which worships the swordfish.
